For today, I had to read the short response below to the question "How is the internet changing the way you think?"
Schank
I promise it is fast, but you should read it. What do you think?
I will also be going deep sea fishing today, but I am not taking my camera on the boat! Exciting day, but not for you.

Day 4
iCinemagraph
How does the music move you? (Thinking of better working to evoke the feeling of make your music meaningful and able to move people physically and emotionally. If you have any ideas, leave them in the comments! I have to turn it in tomorrow!) These three images should all have a single form of movement in them. If there is no movement, refresh the page!
Perception Quickfire (60 minutes)
Today we also worked on perception with audio. We distorted a sound clip and added a picture at the end that we think the audio evokes. Then, we put the original sound clip at the end to compare.

Which version of the guitarist below do you like better?

Day 3
Today, our task was to redesign the online discussion experience. We focused on discussion boards and their inherent problems. For instance, discussions are often very surface level and contrived. Students post because they have to, not because they are engaged in what they are doing.
This is the final video for the music portion of the weekly news. The music doesn't line up with the playing, but that is our goal for next week's video.
Here are a bunch of photos from the pub Tig Coili, or house of music in Gaelic (according to the cab driver). Below is a video of one of their pieces. At the bottom of the page, you will find our finished piece for the school news. It has some great shots, but we are already making a list of things we would like to improve on for next time.

Day 2
This is called an i Cinemagraph. Most of the image is a still photo, but part of the image is animated. It is slightly creepy.
This is a video demonstrating different ways students "know" dynamics, correct or incorrect. I am representing the students.
I couldn't hear what the guide said about this statue, except that the locals called it the "Lass with no Ass."
Can you guess when this cathedral was built?
These were built over windows to keep the rain from rotting the wood panes. They are no longer functional and have mostly been taken down.
These are shots of a part of the building that they decided not to cover with plaster. I believe there are seven names written, but I don't recall the significance.

Day 1
Today was a nice start to the month. We did several projects and went on a tour of campus. Here are the small projects I completed today, as well as pictures I have taken thus far.
This is the album cover from our first day of classes in Galway. We were given very specific guidelines and were asked to keep in mind the text and how it lines up within the image.
This challenge consisted of creating a story with exactly 55 words, no more, no less. The idea was to only include the most important parts while following other guidelines as well.

In this project, we interviewed partners on their last gift giving experience. Through this process, we developed a problem statement, a solution sketch, and eventually a solution prototype to help make the gift giving experience better.
